May 19, 2017 Reply Phage Highspirits im pretty sure the TarmoDie they used to use on camera was a traditional octahedron die. I would prefer that personally, as you could still roll with it. May 19, 2017 Reply Anomen1010 great video May 19, 2017 Reply Shamen I'd like the beastie dice more if they actually had some personalization to colors. Like every color of dice gets a 1 side that's specific to it's color.Red gets goblins, Black gets Rats, white already has it's soldiers, green gets a saproling, blue g-…. I…erm… merfolk? May 19, 2017 Reply kleedrac Are there people who play token decks who don't alphabetize their tokens? May 19, 2017 Reply Ricardo Daniel Morales Great review Prof. Really enjoy getting an all around view of the products you test. Your reviews are the best on the web. May 19, 2017 Reply Zaki Aoi really A- for tarmodie even though you had like 5 complaints on it? i smell sponsership May 19, 2017 Reply Raknarroth OMG those token dice will help with a Selesnya populate build May 19, 2017 Reply Rick Heintz III what's the 3/3 token supposed to be? May 19, 2017 Reply nyarlotep 3:50 the answer is rainbows! the answer is holo! May 19, 2017 Reply pops91 okay i need clarification on the a- of the goyfs, the monster rocks can be used as both monsters and normal d6, they are small compact and and come 6 for a relative low price, yet they got a B, why are goyfs a- when they do 1 thing for 1 card, they are super expensive and they are quite big especially if you are just bringing a deckbox and mat to modern (be honest only modern players will buy this), i am concerned if there was any bias to this May 19, 2017 Reply Edward K I can appreciate the idea of those inserts, but I wouldn't use them. Seems gaudy and the designs are bland and uninspired. May 19, 2017 Reply nonsanekp He sounds so uncomfortable when he says kakapopo May 19, 2017 Reply The Lunaist I'm still confused why Tarmi is so special he gets muitble die deals. Tarmi he still all the die deals of all your favorite cards since he think he just that special. May 19, 2017 Reply Nathan Marhefke I think that the Oracle inserts are completely useless and should get an F rating. The only thing that they do to help protect your cards is making them more rigid, which you already get from double sleeving. They do not prevent liquid from getting on your card, and they do not prevent corners of the cards getting damaged as you sleeve and unsleeve your cards. The only purpose they have for me is be one more annoying thing to put into your sleeves if you need to change sleeves for a deck. Once you inner sleeve all your cards, they can just stay like that. Not the case here. You'd have to jam one of those into each sleeve again when replacing your outer sleeves. Apart from that, these don't look anything like what a real foil card would look like, so people will know that you are doing something to make the cards appear foil. My personal opinion is that they are a waste of money and resources and serve no purpose whatsoever. I would rate them an F. May 19, 2017 Reply Michael Castillion I put the inserts in my commander deck and I put outter sleeves on top of the great John Avon island sleeves and it looks massive it takes up a whole deckbuilders toolkit box but the glare makes the cards hard to see especially foil cards May 19, 2017 Reply Brandon R. A review of the various Collection Management websites out there would be of much use to us. May 19, 2017 Reply Lucan 6029 Where is the Urza's Magnifying Glass to check counterfeiting ? May 19, 2017 Reply TronBonne I love my Kakapopo Dice. Always gets commented on at events, and the weight is soooo nice. I use it as a storm counter, as it stands out from "normal" spindowns. May 19, 2017 Reply Danny bAd The Oracle inserts deserve their grading. Those things are damn near worthless and the creators act as if they are constantly necessary May 19, 2017 Reply Justin D. Do you even need 4 tarmodie? Aren't all Tarmogoyfs on the field going to have the same power and toughness? May 19, 2017 Reply Michael Reppenhagen Those Monster Dice could be fantastic if they differentiate. Like, Modern BW tokens has to generate 6 different type of tokens. Even though it'd be a lot of repeats, I'd love to see them build a die for that. May 19, 2017 Reply huntawpn Hey professor, I've been having a horrible time trying to find a set of negative counter dice for the new format of mtg. Something like a 6-sider with -1/-1, -2/-2, -3/-3, etc… Do you have any ideas or recommendations? I'm trying to find something that doesn't involve eBay retailers selling off merch from companies that have been out of business for years. Thanks in advance! May 19, 2017 Reply elielmobile Brazilian Tarmogoyf May 19, 2017 Reply Ash Fyfield The rating seems completely arbitrary. How do the zinc dice get a B? I can't think of a way of making that product any cheaper, or improving it's quality. For what it sets out to achieve, I can't see how they can get any less than an A. A B rating implies some kind of product fault? You're judging the product, not the usefulness of the product, no? May 19, 2017 Reply Firevine TarmoDie may be $20 for a set, but fuck it, you've already bought four 'Goyfs, so why not spend an extra $20!? May 19, 2017 Reply Icaro Mendonça Huh, you have a brazilian tarmagoyf May 19, 2017 Reply ForeverLaxx The TarmoDie is utterly pointless and shouldn't be graded so highly. If you're going to be using dice to keep track of Goyf's stats, just use a standard D8 or D10 to denote its power, since the toughness is always going to be one higher than that. In no way is it worth paying seven bucks for that ugly, oversized "die." May 19, 2017 Reply Sebastien Bouffard Anyone knows of a nice -1/-1 counter dice that would fit well with the Amonketh mechanic? 🙂 May 19, 2017 Reply Purpleboye_ A die meant for a single card? USELESS Grade: Z minus. May 19, 2017 Reply ralmanza6 shout out to cape fear games!!!! #SeahawkNation May 19, 2017 Reply Ludvig af Klercker Why would you ever need more than one though…? May 19, 2017 Reply Chilly Jack I'd only consider the Oracle inserts if they had Guild symbols and the like, but there'd be licensing issues I'm sure. Those zinc dice are beautiful, but $30 for a D20? No can do. May 19, 2017 Reply voweless noice May 19, 2017 Reply xX1NORM1Xx if they made a non glare version of the skull ones id love to use a black deck with the skulls May 20, 2017 Reply Rendevoir why you carry a million monster rock dice?ehh, equip midnight guard with presence of gond, tap him, make a million 1/1 elves May 20, 2017 Reply Gem Of Magic oh I love the look of those heavy spindown dice, I have been looking for exactly that product, something with a bit more weight to it but still spindown 😀 That coppery-bronze one pleases me greatly 🙂 May 20, 2017 Reply Gem Of Magic I like the IDEA of the oracle inserts, I hope they keep working on it, and as perfect fit sleeves could be ideal. Maybe even just very very light coloured filter, so I could play a rose-tinted deck. 🙂 perhaps even one that adds a certain border effect, replacing the black or white borders with vines or snakes or rainbow sparkles or a diablo 2 type effect. May 20, 2017 Reply Erick Johnson How on Earth are Tarmodie any better of a product than the other die he reviewed? I don't understand how he doesn't consider the Tarmodie "fluff" at all when your'e paying 7$ for an item that has its usefulness limited to just one card; frankly, any other die could perform the same task at a far more reasonable price. May 20, 2017 Reply imperiajor i need a spin 30 dice life, did any have build one ? 🙁 May 20, 2017 Reply Jonathan Stocker Great stuff. Keep it up Prof. May 20, 2017 Reply Dinosaur Spy 🙂hee. May 20, 2017 Reply john howe The owner of my lgs has the fire style oracle sleeve inserts and they are nice, but they add a lot of thickness to the deck and made it very hard to shuffle if you didn't have huge hands May 20, 2017 Reply Michael Hill Is it only me that think's prof looks like the amazing Heath Ledger? R.I.P H.L. May 20, 2017 Reply Greg McIntyre oh god that broken glass insert, my god. I would be so freaking frustrated trying to play with those. May 20, 2017 Reply Leverquin that italian green card 😀 May 20, 2017 Reply testthewest123 Why would you ever need 4 Tarmodies? All tarmogoyf on the board have the same P/T. May 20, 2017 Reply Evan Moon Crappy music Brian. You just complained about dumb music and dead time. Believe me, we all got a great, LONG look at that last die. May 20, 2017 Reply Do0m The Monster Rocks are actually a really cool idea 😀 May 20, 2017 Reply Michael Carrigan Tarmodie at 4 for $20 with the largest side being an ad from the manufacturer. Really !?! May 20, 2017 Reply Max Wrenn You are one of the GREASTEST if not the greatest mtg YouTube ever May 20, 2017 Reply Joshua Lesley question for anyone to answer. I'm new to the game and am in the process of building a commander deck to play with friends. I have the legendary creature Nissa that flips to Plainswalker. Is that card legal to be my commander? I've heard differing opinions. May 20, 2017 Reply Sage's Draws You would have to buy multiple packs to get the colored dice you need. They don't seem very practical. The giant dice seem more function than fluff to me. You can see them from across the table and they don't roll over. Those are my biggest problem with regular d20s. They are overpriced though. May 20, 2017 Reply Sam Rappl Professor, can you do a review of Pirate Lab's new trade binder? Thanks in advance! I have loved their products in the past, but the design of their binder is a little odd, and I'd love to hear your opinion before purchasing one if possible. May 21, 2017 Reply TheStephenation Could those inserts be used to even out the rigidity of damaged cards in a double-sleeved deck? That doesn't appear to be their intended function, but it was the first thing that came to mind. I have an old card that is the fourth card in a playset, inherited from a friend. It would be a $70 to $80 card, but I'd guess that at some point the card went through a previous owner's washing machine. It is heavily damaged, still easily identifiable, but I can tell the difference in rigidity even through two sleeves. May 21, 2017 Reply TheStephenation Tarmodie is critically flawed: there is no 0/1 on it. May 21, 2017 Reply Benjamin Germain love the monster rock went to cfg which is basically down the road from me and let me tell you this store is an awesome place and will and always highly recommend everyone to shop here May 21, 2017 Reply Stickler ForBricks i do not agree with giving tarmodie an A-, sure it does what it was designed to do, but it cant be used for anything outside that, where as the 20 siders and the monster dice you reviewed were given B's when they not only do what they were designed for but can actually be used outside of that design May 21, 2017 Reply MrRayRockstar awesome video. thank you Prof. May 21, 2017 Reply Dagonet Im playing casual magic right now but i want to get into a format and my deck right now is heavily tribal, any ideas on what format i should get into May 22, 2017 Reply hennyboy As a German I have to laugh so hard at kakapopo 😂😂 It literally means "poopooassass" 😂😂 May 22, 2017 Reply Stefano Badodi A- for the Tarmodie???? At 7$ each??? Prof??? May 22, 2017 Reply fallendmr got to admit, struggling to see the advantage the Tarmodie has over just placing coins. but the other dice do seem quite nice. May 22, 2017 Reply Lucarioguild7 I really want those token dice May 23, 2017 Reply Rheannon Hayden I was watching some of your older videos and found your memory sharing. So I would like to share a memory with you. I'm a girl. I have always had an interest in things that are considered "boys toys" I love video games, MTG, and I used to collect Hot Wheels. I had little to no friends growing up. I even tried to hide the fact I like "boys toys" and pretended to like boy bands along with other things that girls were supposed to like in the 90s. Then one day I saw a boy playing MTG I asked him about it. He told me that magic was a boys game. So the next day I asked my Mom to get me some. She did, even got herself some to help me learn how to play. I wanted to be good enough to show him girls could play too. Sadly though I never got the chance, they banned cards from school shortly after. Lol. May 24, 2017 Reply Joey Loney Cool video. I'll be getting those token dice May 24, 2017 Reply anlashock nice card in Portuguese May 29, 2017 Reply Marcus Beckett lol the Oracles look exactly like the Duel Terminal set from Yu-Gi-Oh. May 29, 2017 Reply S Clever Thanks for the review, professor. I might use the token dice for my cube. I do actually have a large pile of token cards for my cube, all the ones that actually match the cards. The issue is that no one actually bothers to use these whenever we are cubing, and I can't really blame them. There's 8 different types of 1/1s in my cube alone! I think taking out the fifty+ token cards and replacing them with a handful of these, and some spindowns and d6s will be a lot more useful and convenient. Keep up the good work, as always! June 2, 2017 Reply christopher smith I still like that broken look on the card June 17, 2017 Reply Lalo Elias As an immature mexican man child, I can't stop laughing at Kakapopo's name. Don't they all have the same power? Why do you even need special dice at all? Just use a regular one for the base power. September 8, 2017 Reply The Illuminaughty For Tarm, I'd rather just use a d8 and remember that the toughness is one higher. An octahedron is much less likely to roll unintentionally. November 17, 2017 Reply cmtx 7 dollars for a tarmodie are you kidding me. Grade C. November 18, 2017 Reply Xarkus I use a calculator and double my goblins every turn thanks to Krenko!
